Just going through editing these gorgeous Del Sur Snow Day 2012 photos…  I’m finding there really IS something magical about event photography – it is pure freedom to tell a story about what happened through my lens.  It is observing the moments, the people, the action, and deciding to push the shutter button at the exact moment you want, freezing time.  It’s anticipating what will happen next.  It’s watching things unfold.  And to me, this is freedom.  I’m tied down in relationships as a wife, as a mother, as a student, as a contractor.  But for these consecutive hours of time at an event I am truly free… I get lost in the moments, filled with laughter, living within the action to get that perfect moment saved on my memory card so that people can enjoy looking back on that day.  It is a feeling I don’t necessarily realize or appreciate until I am back home, staring at the photos on my monitor, going through each and every one.  Photography is not a job for me, it is truly a passion that fulfills so much more than just paying bills and buying camera equipment.
