Gracing the covers of the wedding issue of SDPix May issue is drag personality Glitz Glam and husband Anthony Rollar. They were recently married on the live Grammy Awards 2014. Queen Latifah officiated, and Madonna performed during the nuptials as straight and gay couples married on TV.

We wanted this issue to be really fun and reflective of their personalities, and showing places they like to visit as a couple. We agreed it would be cute to show the stages of a relationship for the centerfold. We started by showing a wedding cake on the cover. The cake belongs to newlyweds whose wedding I just photographed in Palm Springs weeks prior. I spent over 15 hours photoshopping the couple onto the cake as cake toppers – those darn feathers took forever to carefully cut out! The credits page shows the stages of courtship and their favorite places. The centerfold fold shows the various stages from courtship to married life ;).  The back cover we wanted to show them riding off as newlyweds. I wanted to personalize the pic, so I drew a license plate that says “Just Married”. Glitz wanted the photos to look cartoonish, so I added some special filtering to the images to give them  more of a cartoon fantasy look.  Congrats to the newlyweds!
